The Little Kayak Book series

Welcome to The Little Kayak Book series site!

LKBall.jpg

The Little Kayak Book I, II and III are all similar, in that they contain detailed surveys of traditional kayaks and associated equipment found in public institutions in UK and Denmark. In total, twenty-one kayak surveys are recorded in a detailed and thorough way that has been admired by many. Please see quotes at the end of this page.

The fourth book in the series we have referred to as ‘The Little Kayak Book IV’. In this book are the complete notes for a lecture given in London in 1986 entitled ‘The Historical Development of Kayaks’. These notes are very detailed and include sketches, diagrams etc comparing and contrasting the various kinds of traditional kayaks.

Details of all four books are on the page "Book Contents" on this website.

We are in the process of having more copies of LKB II, III and IV reprinted. When these are available for sale, we shall update the site.

Please click below for book details, the prices and for ways to pay.

The surveys are thorough and carefully researched and would be of great value to anyone studying Inuit (Eskimo) boats or skin boats in general.
